The Story Behind BloomBoom

I've always The Story Behind BloomBoom

Creating has always been a natural part of my life, although for many years it existed alongside a very different career.

I trained and worked as a doctor, while spending much of my spare time drawing, building, experimenting, and making things by hand. Over time, the creative work took up more and more space, eventually leading me away from medicine and towards BloomBoom.

Paper became my preferred material almost by accident. I was fascinated by how something so simple could be shaped into sculptural flowers with presence, movement, and character. One flower became several, and gradually the work grew into large-scale installations capable of transforming an entire space.

Today, BloomBoom Creations is the framework for my work as an artist and designer.

I create bespoke installations for businesses, weddings, events, theatres, and private homes. Many of my pieces are inspired by flowers and nature, but I am not limited to one material or expression. Each project is developed specifically for its setting, with attention to the architecture, atmosphere, and purpose of the space.

Paper remains central to my work, and I hand-dye much of it myself to achieve exactly the colours and variations I am looking for. I also enjoy experimenting with construction, texture, light, and other materials whenever the concept calls for it.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration, but I rarely try to reproduce it exactly. Instead, I play with scale, colour, movement, and form to create something recognisable, yet unexpected.

Alongside my installations, I teach creative workshops. I enjoy making creativity accessible and seeing people discover that they are capable of creating far more than they expected.

Thank you for stopping by. I'm glad you're here.
